What's different for a apartment-style / suite with kitchen

Bedding

Almost every US dorm uses an extra-long twin (Twin XL) mattress — standard twin sheets will NOT fit. This is the #1 thing students get wrong.

• Twin XL sheet set (2 sets so you can swap on laundry day)
• Mattress topper (dorm mattresses are thin + firm)
• Mattress protector / encasement (bed-bug + spill protection)

Bathroom & shower

In a traditional hall you walk to a communal bathroom — pack for the trip. In a suite you split supplies with suitemates.

Storage & organization

Dorm rooms are small. Vertical and under-bed space is where you win.

Laundry

Outlets are scarce and far from the bed. Power management matters more than you'd think.
